Why Be Afraid of Change?

How does one become aware that something is living? It is through the process of change. This change can be either in the form of a simple movement through physical relocation or a psychological change due to an emotional shift.

Yet, as beings who are vehicles for pure consciousness to manifest, we often forget our true essence. WeΒ begin to fear change and start clinging. We cling to our near and dear ones, to our belongings, comforts and even cling to our jobs though we may hate them.

Why?

Why this aversion? Why are we so afraid of change?

In order to get rid of this fear, it is essential to understand that a change is the only agent capable of bringing transformation within us. Change has a two-fold nature: one it shatters our old comfort zones and two it brings us face to face with a new reality. Both of which are absolutely essential for us to evolve.

In fact, one should start sensing something wrong if a healthy change doesn’t come by once in a while. For it is surely a sign that ineptitude and complacence has set in. A being who has accepted change as a way of life moves freely. Unattached and fearless, he is ever-alert and conscious.

This way of being ensures every challenge is faced head on with no room to escape or shy away from. And only such beings continually transform and achieve true greatness.

Are you ready for the change?

    Hi Niks,

You’ve got lots of wisdom. I think we all have struggled to create change because we don’t want to leave our comfort zones. And as Rosanne said,”The key to change is to let go of fear.” Embracing change might help us get closer to success or achieve new things in life.

With every change comes new beginning, I think that is what you tried to convey where you said – “It brings us face to face with a new reality”.

Whenever I am about to do something new, I find someone in the same situation as me so that we both can be accountable for each other.

Short post but is very insightful. I hope you’re doing great. Got to know about this post through an e-mail as I’ve subscribed to your blog. βœ‰

    Hi Nik

Great question and you gave a fantastic answer. I too have always wondered why people are afraid of change.

Yes it is true that humanity is resistant to change but the quick rate at which the world is changing should make one think about fighting change.

Your post was thought provoking and it gives one a lot to think about. Good to see you and thanks for sharing.
